Every day I’m confronted with things that boggle my mind, none are actually interesting enough to make for an entire post. But I obviously have an opinion on them (I have a judgmental opinion on a lot of things) and I have this whole white space on the Internets, so I get to fill it up with these random thoughts. And because there are SO many I figure I’ll do this every couple of weeks, because I really don’t have much else to do. I lead a pretty uneventful life.
So, let’s get started!
- People who don’t like vegetables. What’s with that? I understand there are a lot of picky eaters in our lives, and I understand not liking certain vegetables, or only a few. But apparently there are people who hate ALL vegetables. I just don’t understand that. I really thought everyone liked carrots. I guess I was wrong. And these veggie haters, they aren’t eating ANY vegetables. None. That confuses me even more! There are vegetables I don’t like, mushrooms for instance, but I eat them because they fill me up. I just can’t imagine eating zero vegetables.
- People who don’t like water. This one really just blows my mind. I can understand preferring to drink juice or soda (though, seriously, let’s talk about how unhealthy that is for you!) but to HATE water. I had a conversation with someone who was trying to be healthier, to drink more water. She claimed that she just couldn’t do it because she hated water. Now, I can understand not liking the way some water tastes, depending on where you get your water from. The water in our building has a particularly horrible taste, I don’t drink it. Instead, everyday I lug in 2 liters of my own water to drink. And I go through it all most days. I often wonder if there’s something wrong with me because I am always thirsty. I’d Google it, or check WebMD, but I’d probably diagnose myself with a horrible condition and that’s not healthy either.
- I don’t like avocados, but I love guacamole. This should maybe be two separate items, because I did not love guacamole until recently, maybe since last spring, about the time I started running more frequently. So I blame the endorphins. I imagine in a few months I will even like avocados. Though, I can’t really imagine that happening right now.
I think that wraps up this edition, I have some other thoughts rattling around in my mind, but I can’t seem to remember them. Don’t you worry though, as soon as I do, I’ll blog about it, because what else would I do with those thoughts?
Are you a vegetable hater? Please tell me you’re not!

I don’t love water. I drink it, sometimes, because I know I should, but blech.
Vegetables are THE BEST.
I did NOT like avocadoes or guacamole until I moved to SoCal. I’m not sure how it happened, but now I love both. I think because they’re so cheap here (3/$1!), I feel like I must love them? That makes no sense.
But you DO drink it! The girl I mentioned didn’t drink it at all! How do you survive like that?
Maybe I’m not eating the right avocados, mine are from Texas (I think?). That probably makes them less tastey. If I lived in SoCal, I think I would feel obligated to eat them, I’ve heard they are the best.
LOL @ that last one, avocado/guacamole! I don’t like tomatoes, but I like salsa.
That’s just as strange! I do love salsa. Now I need chips and salsa and guac!
